Professional Background Corporate and Small Business

 

A seasoned professional with twenty five years industry experience, approximately fifteen of which were in senior management.  I have been involved in a variety of roles personally providing consulting services, selling computing software, hardware and professional services to international clients.  My experiences have provided opportunity for many accomplishments as a Global and Regional Program Director, Consultant, Business Development Manager, Infrastructure/Solution Architect, Professional Services Manager, Sales Manager and Managing Director through the years.

I have extensive industry experience and market visibility of the telecommunications and financial arenas, through active provisioning of services, IT infrastructure and applications for two telecommunications startups as a result of telecommunications deregulation on two continents and stock exchange deregulation in the UK. I have also worked as a public speaker for industry forums and been a keynote speaker for international forums speaking on market trends, technical subjects and products.

I have also been involved in the startup of a few external private consulting organizations forming alliances with IBM, HP as well as the startup of two public telecommunications companies.  I have a track record showing I can support or deliver initiatives required for the building of profitable, cost effective and industry recognized entities. Challenges have presented different and varied working opportunity. I find myself comfortable being a pioneer in underdeveloped emerging companies/markets and also in more developed organisations with my established capabilities contributing and enabling them to become leaders in sales and or delivery.

I worked in the UK and Europe through the eighties, predominantly in Business Analysis, Technical, Project Management, Software Development (Managerial) and Operations/Delivery roles. Working for JP Morgan Group, Credit Suisse First Boston, British Telecom, British Petroleum and Mirror Group Newspapers. I moved to the Asia Pacific region in 1990 on gaining a position as State Pre-Sales Manager for a company, part of the Fujitsu Group.

In addition to corporate roles, I have been an active entrepreneur and freelance consultant, running a cabling company and technical support services business in the UK in my 20's. In Australia operating newsagents and establishing and promoting a modern Italian eatery, IT recruitment business and consulting practices with more than 200 contract staff with multi million dollar turnovers and million profits in my 3O's.

My businesses have been accredited with ISO 9002 compliance and gained preferential supply contracts and accredited supplier status to various government contracts in all states. I have also worked on the business development of technical products and go to market strategy for a small but successful message and IVR Product Company focused on the call centre marketplace. The products were recognised with an Australian Design Award.

As a consultant I have worked in strategic advisory roles with Hutchison (Orange) Telecommunications, Hutchison Whampoa (H.K), Jacques Martin Hewitt, Colliers Jardine Group, Dairy Farmers International (H. K.) and Franklins and TNT Logistics.

During my career my management responsibilities have included project budgets in excess 30 million dollars, management of capital assets in the region of 20 million dollars and management of 50 direct staff and 600 indirect staff.

Aside research and my practice I am continually expanding and in the past 5 years, I have acted as a creative director for a succesful music,healing,spiritual festival, created with my business partners a travelling immersive sound healing experience which has performed to more than 10,000 attendees (www.healinghertz.com) and also promoted and productised art related products for an amazing spiritual, sacred geometry and visionary artist (www.luminaya.biz)
